The Media Library

The Media library is a facility dedicated to researching, collecting, preserving and providing access to audiovisual material (films, documentaries, reportages, etc.) on Eastern topics.

The Eastern Cinema Archive is particularly significant, containing over 1,700 titles and includes productions from Maghreb cinema to South-East Asia.

All films are preserved in digital format on DVDs. Much of the collection features films in their original language, with Italian or English subtitles.

DVDs can be requested for consultation (maximum duration: 3 days). In the reading room there is a display rack with some classics and new acquisitions.

All titles have been catalogued and can be searched in the library’s catalogue or via opac. The descriptions are currently being updated with abstracts and original-script titles.

In 2019, the ISO Department (Proponent Professor Laura Guazzone) funded the "Third Mission" project "Voci e immagini dal dialogo interculturale nel Mediterraneo", in collaboration with the Rome Film Festival.
